Making the Team

Players in the Instructional Leagues, focus is on learning the fundamentals of volleyball and learning how to play the game.

As the players move on from the Instructional Leagues to Advanced Juniors, the focus remains the same, except in an indoor setting.

The fundamentals of volleyball are always at the core of becoming a great volleyball player, it is perfecting the skills correctly that becomes the focus.

Being able to do each skill correctly in a game situation is what is helping our players make their boys and girls high school teams.

So, stick with it, work on your fundamentals this Spring season.

Volleyball is a great sport for young people to play and we are excited to announce that registration is now open for our spring youth volleyball program.

Our instructional program is open to players of all skill levels, including beginners. We welcome players ages 7-15 and offer a fun and supportive environment where they can learn and improve their skills.

In addition to our experienced Clinicians (Head Volleyball Instructors), we are also looking for parents who are interested in volunteering as coaches and assistant coaches for our teams. This is a great way for parents to get involved and help their child’s team succeed.

If you have a child who is interested in playing volleyball, or if you are interested in volunteering as a coach, please sign up online and you will be contacted by a Program Coordinator. High School Volunteers Rock!

Volunteer coaching is a fun way to get involved and share your appreciation of volleyball with the next generation of players.

High School students who volunteer with USYVL can receive community service hours. The weekly time commitment for volunteers is generally three to four hours per week.

USYVL operates co-ed youth volleyball leagues for kids ages 7-15. Our leagues have four age divisions 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-15.

Each league has a dedicated Clinician (Volleyball Instructor) that supervises the local site. Under the direction of the Clinician, volunteer assistant coaches guide players through drills, lessons, practices, and games.

If you love being involved with your community or playing volleyball and enjoy working with kids, this is a perfect opportunity to get involved. You can fill out the volunteer form online at the link below or print the form, at the link below, complete and email to [email protected].
